Porter Croft Church of England Primary Academy is a single form entry voluntary aided school with which both St Mary’s and St Augustine’s enjoy strong links. There are currently three foundation governors from each congregation, including the Chair of governors. (The Incumbent is a named company member of the Koinonia Academies Trust, which currently comprises of the one Academy – Porter Croft).
Located just a 10 minute walk from St Mary’s, Porter Croft reflects the diversity of its location and there are currently approximately 20 different ethnic backgrounds within the school community. At its recent OFSTED inspection it was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas.
St Mary’s has an active involvement in the life of the school including taking fortnightly assemblies, supporting a parent led ‘Open the Book’ assembly each half term and hosting festival and special occasion services throughout the year at St Marys. Additionally we run a weekly lunchtime ‘Wonder Club’, have been involved in the school choir and after school clubs, and are currently exploring how our trained Godly Play team can contribute to the RE curriculum on a regular basis. A number of families from school are regular members of Messy Church.
